Press Release from Dynamic Extractions LtdBench mounted preparative scale liquid chromatography instruments Slough, UK – Liquid-liquid chromatography innovator Dynamic Extractions’ Midi High Performance Countercurrent Chromatography (HPCCC) instrument now enables scientists who perform preparative scale chromatography to achieve high-resolution separations and when required, high sample injection masses at the laboratory bench. The Midi HPCCC is able to offer sample injection loadings of between 20 – 25 grams that allows 250 or more grams of crude sample to be chromatographically processed in an 8-hour period. This instrument is ideally suited to the pharmaceutical development environment. One of the greatest advantages that HPCCC instruments bring to the laboratory is their very low usage of solvent: HPCCC often uses 1/10th to 1/5th of the solvent that either preparative HPLC or Flash chromatography would to process the same sample mass. Therefore, the time,equipment and expense required for the handling and subsequent disposal of the solvent is significantly reduced. Finally, HPCCC is usually effected under isocratic conditions so all solvent can be readily and completely recycled, so further minimising solvent usage.
